Upcoming Events

With summer on its way there are often cool events going on in and around the cities we live in. We'll try to keep you posted on the ones we are headed to (or wish we could make).

Minneapolis / St. Paul

Well, spring has sprung, and so have the farmer's markets! Fortunately, there are a lot of great ones in the Twin Cities, but here are a few I'll definitely be visiting:

Saint Paul Farmer's Market: this is my favorite one, hands down - they have more fresh vegetables and fruit and flowers than you can shake a stick at. Honestly. I dare you to try.

Mill City Farmer's Market: as I see it, this market caters to the wealthy folks that live in the fancy condos nearby. Which means that if you don't mind dropping $5-$20 on brunch/lunch while you wander about, listen to the live music, and people watch, it's a pretty fabulous outing.

Minneapolis Farmer's Market: I've only been here once, largely due to my loyalty to the Saint Paul one. This market is huge, and not entirely local, which means that if you want to buy avocadoes at a farmer's market in Minnesota, you should probably do that here.

Uptown Market: this is kind of a farmer's market and art show and lovely summer stroll all smooshed together - it was new last summer, and I'm excited to see what they have in store for their second season!

Seattle

Northwest Folklife Festival This annual event is free and oh so wonderful. Great folk music abounds and it's a great way to kick off summer! Memorial Day weekend, at the Seattle Center.

Sequim Lavender Festival As you may remember from my posts last year, this event is full of beautiful lavender fields, delicious food, high quality crafts and lavender infused drinks.  I can't wait to go again this year! The festival is crammed into a 3 day weekend and this year it's happening July 16th, 17th & 18th. See you there!
